Why ArkP3

We built ArkP3 to put the operational muscle back into mission-driven lending.

With a strong background in finance, ArkP3’s Public-Private Partnership model focuses on a mission-driven lender’s capacity.

How ArkP3 came to be

From the side of the desk you’re sitting on.

Federal and state funding arrived at historic scale. Funding to support lender operations has become sporadic and often insufficient. In addition, a generation of seasoned lenders have or are set to retire — taking their institutional knowledge with them. ArkP3 was founded in February 2025 as a private partner to public organizations to close that gap. We operate with the discipline of private finance and the mission of the development finance programs we serve.

A thru-hike, then a new chapter.

Before launching ArkP3, John and Carrie thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail — Mexico to Canada, on foot — with enough quiet to decide what the next decade of work should look like. The answer was ArkP3.
